The short version: YouClip doesn’t collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Your videos never leave your Mac unless you specifically choose to share them. We don’t track you, we don’t have accounts, and we don’t use analytics. Full stop.
Who we are
YouClip is a native macOS application developed and published by Eight Alpha Charlie, Corp. Our website is getyouclip.com.
What data we collect
We collect no personal data whatsoever — not from the YouClip app, and not from this website. There are no user accounts, no sign-ups, no contact forms, and no analytics tools running on getyouclip.com.
Your videos and files
YouClip operates entirely on your Mac. When you open a video, it is read locally from your hard drive. Any clips you create are saved locally to your Mac. No video files, clip data, or metadata are ever uploaded to any server or transmitted over the internet — unless you specifically choose to share a clip via AirDrop, email, or another service you initiate yourself.
Find Moments and audio
To find moments, YouClip listens to the audio in your videos using Apple’s speech recognition, which runs entirely on your Mac. The words it hears and the moments it finds are stored on your Mac alongside your event. Audio and transcripts are never uploaded, never sent to us, and never shared with anyone.
Free trial and purchase
Your purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store. We don’t receive your name, your payment details, or any information about your purchase beyond what Apple provides to all developers. Your free-trial count is stored on your Mac and synced through your own iCloud account — we never see it.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party analytics services. We do not track your visits, your behavior on the site, or anything else.
Third-party services
This website is hosted on Netlify. Netlify may collect standard server access logs (such as IP addresses) as part of normal web hosting operations. You can review Netlify’s privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy.
The YouClip app is distributed via the Apple App Store. Apple’s privacy practices apply to any data collected during the purchase or download process. You can review Apple’s privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Children’s privacy
YouClip does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since we collect no data at all, there is nothing to disclose under COPPA or similar regulations.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Given the nature of our app, we don’t anticipate meaningful changes.
